I like a good return on my investments, and I thought that ETFs, while a safe investment, probably wouldn't bring the returns I wanted on my money. The low buy in cost with the low risk makes them attractive, but the yields can be disappointing and I considered them a long term strategy.
I like the idea of ETFs, because you can invest in a business without investing in one company This presents a lower risk for that individual investor like me. Biotech is a great investment market, but a lot of new biotech issues don't do especially well. When investing in a biotech ETF, even if one issue doesn't prosper, you have other companies that earn profits and cover losing on the company that loses money.
The problem with low risk investments is that they are usually low return. I can turn a fast profit on the hot stock basically time that it right, but ETFs take longer and tie your capital. You also have to pay the annual fee on ETFs because they are a mutual fund. They're cheaper to trade though, and you can usually buy in for under with other investments.
I was considering buying some ETFs to increase my portfolio with my other long-term investments. I started checking out websites that brokered ETFs and I stumbled upon ETF Trading Signals. ETF Trading Signals is really a site that keeps tabs on the highest performing ETFs on the market. They even send alerts and give advice about the most profitable ETFs every month. I already keep an eye on hot stocks and this looked like a good idea.
I've been using ETF Trading Signals for around 6 months and thus far they picks happen to be right more often than they have been wrong. I've made more than I was expecting to within the ETF market, and my investment capital hasn't been tied up for long periods. I've still minimized my risk while increasing my yield.
This market may not be for everybody. i love to keep my investments diverse for the best returns. I still use hot stock and trend following strategies and I've got a little action moving in Forex as well. ETFs are an addition to my other market methods and it is one more thing to watch, but In my opinion its a good investment. You can still, obviously, buy ETFs as a lasting investment if you aren't thinking about keeping up with all of the markets good and the bad.
If you are a serious investor who is looking to diversify, I highly recommend trying ETFs and using ETF Trading Signals as an addition to your portfolio. The advantages offset the disadvantages, and with the right information and techniques, you can make more on this type of investment than you think.
Look into ETFs as a long or short term investment and check out ETF Trading Signals to find out which issues are most likely to bring the best yields. This may be the best market for the small investor, because of the low risk factor. I've done better with this than I thought was possible.
